Firefox keeps asking to open a file c that is application / octet-stream production manager? Spy!?

I once adjacent to this question before and was told that the only way to get rid of it would pay for some programs. Is this a attack? Is this an attack on fox-fire and a deliberate tactic to get people to pay for software to get rid of it? http://www.wiki-security.com/wiki/Parasite/adyieldmanagercom Spy Hunter, tool-spyware is there another way I can get rid of it for free?
Other people have complained Mediaplex on Yahoo Answers before. Mediaplex seems to have some contractual relationships with Yahoo and eBay. But how has it installed on your computer, you know, it's not on my computer. I looked in my archives of history in advertising of the past and seen yielfdmanager.com, but were just pictures, no integrated programs or browser helper objects (IE). Remove the program will not be easy.
