Vista Tools for Windows Xp

Windows Vista not compatable issue, program requires XP but can work on a dual op system situation? What to do

Hi.
To spare the long story the people who sold me my laptop about a year ago (*cough* Frys *cough*) told me that the computer I was buying could run Pro-Tools. It was the only spec. I was interested in. So it took me quite a while, but I finally bought pro-tools and it turns out that because they loaded Vista onto the computer I can’t run the program on it. I can’t even load it onto the computer.

So, I did a little looking online and found an article saying that you can have both vista and xp as operating systems and the program will accept that, but I don’t really know how to go about that, or if it has any negative effects on how the computer will run. I’m also kind of bitter about the prospects of having to buy xp after Frys basically screwed me on the deal (but it’s kind of too late to hold them accountable).

I can’t get a hold of Pro-Tools support. I tried to call.

Any advice?
Thank you very much for any help.

I’m not sure if this is the Pro-tools you are talking about…if it is then Vista software is available for download.
