My 23 month old is not taking potty training very well. What can I do to increase her interest and success?

I have been working with my daughter trying to get her potty trained for about three or four months. She has only used the potty once since we started working on it. She has now gotten to the point where she will say “pee” or “poop” but not until after she’s done it. She still wants to go sit on the potty after the deed’s done, but I am having trouble communicating to her that she can tell me before hand and actually go in the potty. Are there any techniques that you would recommend or potty training tools that may help in this process?
I have spoken with her doctor several times and he recommended starting her potty training at 18 months. I don’t understand how anyone can just classify a child as not being ready based soley on their age. If her doctor thinks she’s ready, then I have to agree with him and start her training at that time.

The best way to increase her intrest is to stop trying. Totally 100%. She is obviously not ready and now its a fight. One you are not going to win BTW.
Stop a week or a couple of months. Try after er birthday. let her lead you. Its not worth the fight I promise.
