Why do catholics consider the pope Jesus’ vicar on earth when a pope imprisoned galileo?
Indians already knew the earth was round a thousand years before Gallileo. Indians even calculated the circumference of the earth to almost the exact measurement hundreds of years before Galileo was born, and the tools they used for this calculation still exist in India so it’s not some nationalist propaganda.
If the pope represents the christian god, why didn’t the christian god inform the pope of the earth’s roundess which what the Indians already knew a thousand years ago?
What amuses me is that the Catholic Church *forgave* Galileo recently.
Not “apologised for persecuting and torturing him” oh no, they “forgave” him- suggesting that they believed that they were in the right all along!
What a benevolent and humble organisation- I don’t think.
