Tools Of The Mind Curriculum

tools of the mind curriculum
Are government issued bubble tests taken by every public school kid the ultimate example of a Big Brother gvt?

No longer do teachers have social interaction with children, as the curriculum and script do not allow for time. No longer can teachers help students with their issues as people, because their time is full of reading and math, and remedial reading, and remedial math, and additional reading, and additional math. Teachers as individuals are the last block against the government taking the minds of your children, and the bubble tests (which last months now instead of a day or two like they did when I was young) are the tool to destroy good teaching.

I am not sure what kind of schools that you are accustomed to but I know that my school had “government issued bubble tests” and my teachers had time to socially interact with us. I never noticed a script. I thought that the test was meant to keep high standards for all schools. With inner city schools constantly curbing their grades so that people do not fail the tests are fool proof because you have to teach to a standard. I come from a neighborhood where people regularly cut corners for athletes and kids that are disruptive so that they can get them out of their class and keep moving them up. This is the reason why, in my state, people over the age of 26 (meaning they graduated before the test was mandatory for you to graduate from high school) that came from inner city schools have a second grade reading level sometimes and have their high school diploma.
