tools missing in internet explorer
Any suggestions on changing the default view of IE7 when it opens after I click on a Yahoo Mail notification?

I’ve been having a problem since I upgraded to Internet Explorer 7. If anyone has a good suggestion on how to deal with this, I would really appreciate it.

I use Yahoo Messenger to alert me when I receive a new e-mail. The new mail alert is a little envelope that appears on the bottom of my screen. When I doubleclick on it, IE7 opens and I’m already signed in, but the display options are all weird: the standard buttons all look funny, there are new * and *+ buttons up there, and all the IE pulldown menus (File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, Help) are missing.

Is it possible to change something so that when I click on the mail notification (little envelope at the bottom of the screen), IE will open with my normal view settings? If so, how?

Oh, and please don’t suggest switching back to IE6. There must be a better option than that.

Thank you.

On Internet Explorer 7 click the gold star on the left of the toolbar or press Alt + c on your keyboard to get your Favorites, and if you want the Menu Bar with File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, and Help to show, click Tools (an icon that looks like a gear) on the bottom right of the toolbar, a menu pops up, click Menu Bar, or right click a vacant space on the toolbar, a menu pops up, click Menu Bar.

If you only need the Menu Bar with File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, and Help to appear temporarily just press the Alt key on your keyboard. This way your toolbar doesn’t take up as much of your screen. If you want it to stay permanently, right click on a vacant space on the toolbar and click Menu Bar.

I suggest you take the Internet Explorer 7 Tour.
