Powerful Tools for Caregivers

Brockton, MA …

Programme of the former colony Elder Family Caregiver Support Services offers a course of six weeks of additional training for caregivers entitled "Powerful Tools for Caregivers."

The Powerful Tools for Caregivers course is designed to assist family physicians to take care of themselves while caring for a relative or friend. Doctors caring for a parent, spouse or friend at home, in a nursing home or across the country will benefit from this special class teach them reduce stress, communicate more effectively and take care of themselves. Physicians also learn to relax and cope with feelings of guilt, anger and depression. Setting goals and solving problems will be addressed during the course.

Rochelle Sugarman, who is the Support Program Family Caregivers OCES supervisor

will lead classes with Chris McLaren Family Care Advisor OCES caregiver support program.

The class meets once a week from 10 am to noon every Tuesday from 20-25 April at Old Colony Elder Services in May located at 144 Main Street in Brockton.
