Self teaching myself geometry?

When I was in junior high, I was on the normal math track for high school, which would have been: Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calc.

However, I screwed around and I had to take Algebra over a course of two years. I am not successful in school, and I would like to be in the normal math class next year (Algebra II).

To do this, I would have to test out of geometry, which would mean teaching myself. I have a couple of questions about this.

Is this realistic to do in a three to four and a half month time span?

How important is geometry? This is especially important because I will be taking Chemistry honors next year, and hopefully more honors science classes my senior year.

Are there any tools or books I should use in order to help myself learn geometry?

You should be able to learn it yourself, but if you need help feel free to contact me. I can help using an online whiteboard, chat tools etc.(no charge).

I would suggest that you find out the text that is in use at your local high school. You can probably get a copy at your local library. Also, check similar books at your library and pick another one that you like. Then see if you can buy them somewhere online. Or just buy the school text and visit you library occasionally.
