My internet connection is fine, but Internet explorer won’t connect????

I found this in an earlier question. “”I have a DSL connection when I try to connect to a secure site (eg..my ebay) I get the following message “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”.When I run the Windows XP Diagnostic tool it responds with “Windows cannot connect to the internet using HTTP, HTTPS, or FTP. This is probably caused by firewall settings on this computer. Check the firewall settings for HTTP port 80, HHTP port 443 and HTTP port 21.”"”

I have the exact same problem with IE on my laptop. It wont go to any site, nothing. AND I’ve have tried everything under the sun. I get email on my laptop fine. My other computer works fine both IE, firefox, email. If it’s my wireless router, then why does my email work. I’ve rebooted everything. My isp did all sorts of checks and the connection is fine. Is there a hidden firewall that I don’t know about? I turned off the Windows Firewall, and all the firewalls I could find on Norton. PLEASE HELP.

here one tip GET RID OF NORTON!!! it trys and most cases does take over your OS ,norton was good years ago, but nowadays they combine everything in what they call a suite, and it sucks bigtime balls! but anyways, you MUST have something blocked under your internet tools under restricted site or blocked sites, recheck those , and when you get the chance ,smash the norton disc with a big f u c k e n hammer!

Find Out and Write About - Explorers (OneSchool Site License) for Mac,Win

Find Out and Write About – Explorers (OneSchool Site License) for Mac,Win

$74.95

Find Out & Write About is an award winning nonfiction series that teaches comprehension and independent research skills by presenting carefully leveled reading materials with connected writing tasks. Support students through curriculum focused reading and writing activities Each title contains engagingly illustrated information pages with carefully researched, nonfiction text. Students click the speaker button to listen to the whole text, or click on an individual word to hear it. Each page contains a link to a Clicker writing grid that relates directly to that page, so students can write about the information they have just learned. Words are color coded to help writers compose sentences successfully. Motivate all learners with differentiated materials Each engaging title presents information at three levels, making the series suitable for emergent, struggling, and fluent readers. At level 1, information is presented in short sentences and learners use Clicker Grids to work with sentence beginnings and endings. At level 2, students construct their own sentences and have a wider vocabulary choice, while at level 3 they are presented with more in depth information and grids that enable them to interpret and respond to the text. Enhance students’ learning outcomes As they work their way through the information pages and writing tasks, students produce a significant piece of writing that demonstrates both their understanding of the reading material and their ability to work independently. This is highly motivating for all learners, particularly struggling readers and writers. Find Out & Write About is also ideal for enhancing the learning opportunities of your students with special needs. As with all Powered by Clicker resources, the series is completely switch accessible. The Find Out & Write About Explorers resource introduces students to explorers throughout the ages, from early travelers to the East, to the polar explorers of the twentieth century. Students find out about discoverers of the East like Marco Polo, explorers of the world such as Christopher Columbus, and the routes of conquerors of the New World such as Hernando Cortes. They study the world with David Livingstone and Mary Kingsley, and follow the stories of the polar explorers Robert Peary, Roald Amundsen, and Robert Scott. The information is presented at three levels. All levels use clear, recorded speech, and the text is highlighted as it is read. Each level also includes a talking glossary.
