photo shop GIMP: tips on changing eye colour? (I’m a beginner lol)?
So I’m getting used to using something a LOT more powerful than picnik haha, and I know HOW to change the colour… but I want to use the gradient effect to make rainbow eyes (typical i know lol). So I zoomed in really close and used the paths tool… it went great until I hit my eyelashes… which are kind of … I don’t know how to explain it… they get in the way anyways, and I tried to go around them but when I put the effect on, the selection looked awful
( is there any ways to make it more natural?
here is the pic I’m editing if you need it:

thanks bunches!
Well, since no one else has answered yet I’ll chime in.
My suggestion is that you essentially do layer masking and selective erasing.
1. Open your picture with GIMP, and Ctrl-C it to copy it.
2. Go ahead and outline your irises, including whichever eyelashes get in your way, and make them rainbow-like.
3. Now Paste the original version of your picture on top of this; don’t anchor the layer yet though.
4. Now take your eraser (Shift E) and outline the irises; the rainbow colors will reappear as you do so.
But that’s when things get tricky. There’s not a sharp contrast between your eyelashes and your irises near the eyelids. So, you could use the eraser to make a smooth transition from eyelashes to rainbow coloring near the eyelids, but it will be time-consuming and challenging. It will basically require using the smallest possible brush size to erase all the right pixels.
VoilĂ . There is my humble suggestion.

Aenima $10.86 With its heavy-duty distortion, weighty rhythms, and cynical lyrics, Tool is a heavy metal band for the ’90s. Rather like Metallica circa …And Justice for All, the sound is focused heavily on texture, with vocals and guitars layered one atop the other, and heart-pounding drums underlying everything. There’s not a whole lot of variety on Tool’s second full-length album–most of the songs start of… |

Lateralus $12.47 Everything about Tool’s fourth album is an experience, starting with the packaging, which consists of liner credits printed on a translucent plastic sleeve over the CD and a booklet that layers anatomical representations atop one another–the first page pictures musculature and blood vessels; the next, bones; the third, internal organs; and so on. It’s worth describing the packaging of Lateralus b… |
