How do I fix my computer!!?

>I recently installed Windows XP Pro correctly in my computer, but later on my computer had problems.
-Whenever I want to download any type of file from Internet Explorer or Firefox, it would not let me download and there would be errors.
-And also when I want to do a virus scan in my computer, there would be an error message saying, “not enough disk space.” even though I have 170 GB of free disk space.
-Also Dameon tools does not work “D:/temp unavailable.”
Is there easy way I can fix these problems by using Recovery CD, I don’t want to format or reinstall the whole OS again. I want to fix these problems using recovery and etc. Please Help Me!
