pls l need an answer on the voice of labor?

change rocked america in the late 1800s. The united states was becoming less a rural nation and more an urban one. Its economy was changing too, growing at a rapid rate and shifting from agrarian to industria. Many immigrants and people who had given up on farm life made up the labor force that helped drive this economic change.Many conflicts arose as workers fought for their share of the new wealth. One important tool in the struggle to gain power was the labor union. Pls what are the traces of the labor movement and the rise of unions in the united states in the lates 1800s? What where some of the problems with the unions in the beginning of the labor movement? What made people feared unions? And how did unions become more accpeted?

At the time labor unions were first formed in this country, the large corporations of the Second Industrial Revolution (late 1800′s) essentially had “captive” worker pools…there was no social “safety net”…people either went to work, or they starved. As agriculture became mechanized, less workers were needed on the farms and they headed for the cities. At the same time, immigrants were entering the country at a rapid pace; many of them were looking for factory jobs as well. Long work hours, poor working conditions, low wages, employer-run stores and housing, unsafe conditions and child labor were all real problems that needed to be addressed. Labor unions organized and fought these battles through the use of strikes and also through changes in the law.
