Question about fixed power tools?

I was at a Menard’s store yesterday and I was looking at all the the fixed power tools they had there. My question is: Is it safe to plug a power tool such as a belt sander, miter saw, or table saw into a standard garage wall outlet? I know that If a tool is not getting enough power it can damage the tool and is dangerous. But say I only had one plug in at a time when it was in use, is that safe for me and the tool?

Yes it is. The minimum that a circuit can handle is 15 amps (many are wired for 20 amps), and nothing Menard’s carries has a motor that draws more than 15A. Belt sanders run in the neighborhood of 6-9A, miter saw 12-15A, table saw 13-15A. You’ll be fine. Don’t use them on an extension cord longer than 25 feet, and use a 12 ga. cord. Hope this helps.
