5 Steps to PC Security

Step 1 – buy an Internet Security Suite: In case of doubt of what an Internet Security Suite is very In short, it is usually a combination of firewall and antivirus. These products can be purchased and installed on your computer separately, but I always advise people to a product mix is less complicated. An Internet Security Suite can also include other useful features like ad blocking, anti-spam, or even file backup and PC optimization facilities.

Step 2 – Password protect your user accounts: If you share your computer with one or more persons, it would be a good idea to have your own password account protected by the user. Once you share a computer, security is no longer his sole responsibility that he was responsible for all who uses it. In such an environment protection password, its own will not prevent other users to download malicious software, but depending on circumstances, you can at least prevent the loss of their own data.

If you have a shared computer, it is a good idea to restrict the access of other users. This means giving them limited accounts so they can use the computer without being able to make changes to the system may damage the computer or affect other users. Administration should be given for those who really need a reason.

Step 3 - Be wary of suspicious emails: So far the best way to deal with fraud by mail using common sense. However, here are some things to remember.

  • E-mail can be falsified. The fact that e-mail said to have come from customerservices@paypal.co.uk does not mean that, in fact
  • Web site address can be falsified. Just because a link says http://www.yourbank.co.uk does not mean this is where you take if clicked
  • In general banks only contact you by e-mail and invited to confirm details of any

do's and do not

  • No response to e in any suspicious e
  • Do not open the pieces attachments in a suspicious email
  • NO click on any link in the e-mail
  • NOT delete any mail seems suspicious
  • NO DO use email filtering software (antispam)
  • Contact your bank and ask them if the e-mail sent to him are true

Step 4 - Use a pop-up: Most browsers come with an installation to prevent pop-up … These Well, arise. "Check the help files for your particular browser for test this possibility and if so, what launch! So beware of messages that appear on web sites that offer free software anti-virus free registry analysis, etc. These messages are often designed to look like real messages of their own team, but they are certainly! When Clicking on them will almost certainly infect your computer with malicious code.

Step 5 – Secure your network Wireless: It may interest you to know that armed with the tools available free on the Internet, a hacker (a pirate, even very good) will only access an unsecured wireless network with relative ease. Once they had access, he or she can potentially read files in computer see pages you've surfed the Internet, and even using the Internet for a range of criminal activities. For example, could use its Internet connection to send emails in bulk, cut to other computers, downloading indecent images of children, and many more.

Secure your wireless network by installing a password on it. Only computers with the password you can connect to the network.

If you follow these steps, you'll be on track for the security of your PC and online world.
