Penetration Testing?

I am currently in my sophomore year in HS, and my school has put a challenge to anyone who can access their networks, get a new laptop computer. I am currently on a Mac, and I wonder if anyone has any good password cracking tools, and network sniffer that could recommend to me. I really need a Windows-based laptop to continue my penetration testing, with Windows-based machines, such as I was using his home, died. Any and all penetration testing tools that could recommend would be great. Are all computers running Windows, based on the Novell network. please dont comment if you are only going to accuse me of malicious activity, I have never committed a network illegally and never will, I have extensive experience with penetration testing on windows machines and have even done penetration testing of Boeing Aircraft (now areospace spirit), so please only positive comments
