Yahoo widget question

Will my laptop be able to handle it. The these are the specifications:

System:
Microsoft Windows XP
Professional
Version 2002
Service Pack 2

Computer
Intel(R) Pentium(R) M
processor 1500MHz
1.50 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM

In the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Window it says:

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5/1, Build 2600)

Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1500MHz

Memory: 1024MB RAM

DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

Can someone please tell me what all this means, because I don’t understand it at all.

According to the Yahoo Widget home page, for best results a computer should have (at a minimum) the following specs:

* Windows XP SP2, or 2000 SP4, or
* Windows Vista, or
* Mac OSX 10.3.9 and up, and
* Internet connection, and
* 512 megabytes of RAM

According to your specs you have XP SP2, 1024MB (1GB) RAM, and presumably you have an internet connection. So your computer actually exceeds the minimum requirements to use the latest and greatest widgets.

The only thing Yahoo doesn’t specify is the processor. Since they don’t list any minimum processor requirements one can reasonably presume any processor capable of handling a Windows operating system (from Windows 2000 up to Vista) can handle the widgets.

As far as DirectX is concerned, all you really need to know is it’s a built in Windows XP application (program) that let’s your computer create and manage images, games and active web pages.
