Using Windows on a Mac?

I have a macbook. I’m taking a computer class at my college, but my college teaches all the Microsoft programs using Windows. I have all the Microsoft Office programs on my Macbook, but the formatting of all the programs are completely different. For example, all the tools on the toolbar are in different locations, which makes it very difficult to learn.

Im considering buying Microsoft Windows for my computer, but which one should i get. The book teaches on Vista, but i’ve heard a lot of negative things about it. I’m considering purchasing Windows XP, but will i be stuck with the same formatting problems

To sum it all up:

(1) Is the Windows program on a Mac, the same as, lets say a Dell?

(2) And if so, which program should i get, XP or Vista?

(3) And if I get XP, will the toolbars on Powerpoint, Word, and Excel be in the same spots as Vista?

I need the program now, so waiting for Windows 7 is not an option

(1) An operating system has nothing to do with the type of computer. Dell, Acer, HP. If it is XP, it will look like XP.

(2) XP SP3 is still more stable than Vista, because Vista is still fairly new, but it depends on personal taste. Vista is more eye candy than XP, but if you only want stability, and don’t care for looks, then 95 is top of the list, but obsolete.

(3) Vista is not that different in format to XP, its just flashier.

If your Mac is OS Leopard or later, you can install Windows on it using Bootcamp. Go to the local computer shop (preferably on that deals Apple computers), if you need help doing this.
