are left handed people are more accident prone?

as a lefty living in a right handed world, statistics say i’ll be more accident prone than a right handed person. i know this is a general rule, so there will be exceptions (like myself), but has there ever been a time that being left handed caused an accident? i can’t say it ever has and i don’t know about you but i can switch from left to right easily when i use tools, guns, and other right handed objects. yes, guns are right handed, look where the safety is at.

Apparently we (Lefty’s) have a lower life expectancy aswell, but I honestly don’t believe that. It’s annoying that everyday objects we use are suited and built for right handers (like kettles with the measurements being on one side, rulers with the numbers leading in the wrong direction for us, any sort of kitchen appliance, pens/pencils with writing down the side, scissors especially – nowhere seems to sell left handed scissors anymore where I live. I’ve checked everywhere, even in specialist craft shops. Guns too, I’ve used and so many times came close to having an accident with one because I couldn’t quite catch the safety whilst holding it). Although, I’ve never had any real accidents linked to being left handed. Inconveniences maybe, but no accidents – I can still actually use my right hand. And, even if a person is left handed, the right hand is still stronger than the left – a proven fact. Something I learnt first hand also, I play the piano and I’m left handed. As a pianist, whilst playing scales you tend to follow (watch) one of your hands when going up the keys. When I first started, I thought that since I’m left handed I would follow my left hand, but I just made more mistakes and both my hands felt weak. My teacher told me to follow my other hand regardless of whether I was left-handed or not, and I could play the scales perfectly – no mistakes.
