Google Earth is such a cool little tool that, for many, has no use except to "visit" places to live or have visited before. However, this free tool can be immensely helpful when looking for your next home.

Many people have enjoyed in search of their houses and houses of potential in Google Maps. Google Earth offers another feature: the field. For people who do not want to ride a bicycle or up and down hills to shops or local access services, this may be important. For older people who may have difficulty negotiating uneven terrain, this may be a necessity.

With a click of a button, Google Earth can allow a limited 3-D view of the house you are considering. Then you can see on the ground in the area around the house and any main roads. Google Earth can be assigned the driving distance between home and potential favorite destinations.

Another advantage of Google Earth is that it has the same information as Google Maps. If you are looking for certain amenities near the property you are considering, Google Earth list of those who know and can be used to search for more.

Currently, the main problem with real estate search with Google Earth is the limited nature listings. Not designed as a truly global property search engine, each company or individual who wants to see their listings in Google Earth to create a with them in it. It's often better Google search for real estate in the desired location and then check whether the company or person is working with Google Earth.

These files have the extension. KML. KML stands for "Keyhole Markup Language" after the company Keyhole, Inc. It is sometimes found. Kmz file extensions that simply. KML extensions are squeezed due to the heavy load of information to a file. Kml can carry. You will need an extractor program to release these files.

To access these files, you must download and install Google Earth. Then download and open a file. KML. When you are downloading, a small window will appear asking if you want to open with Google Earth. Say yes. If not ask if you can open with Google Earth, go to the little box and you use Google Earth.

Once the file is open in the program, check it out. You may have to zoom in to view all ads (usually in the form of houses), but once you get used to it, Google Earth is really easy to use. Play around with it. See what you can do with the toolbar. If you are interested in a property not found in a Google Earth file, you can enter in the address and enjoy a sense fresh flight as the world turns and so zap hanging over their destiny.

One thing I found with Google Earth is that it is not always the best way to determine property size and condition of the building. Sites that appeared to have a lot of decent size was slightly above places postage stamp with just enough space to pass through the door! Google Earth is just the beginning, once you find a house to buy, definitely do the dirty work to go see or get someone to make photos showing the entire property.
