If you are in the use of aircraft as part of us can, spare a thought for all the different methods youÂ've tried in recent years Sharpening the planer blades. Now, if you're like me, who would have tried a few and probably realized that getting a throat Â'cut edge 'in a piece of brush is a bit like expecting Sheik Yamani to fly to New York and start to distribute money without notes fifty to the American general publication …. In other words, is never, ever going to happen! However, there is one more method that I try and I implore all people, it is cheap …. very cheap indeed. Planer Knives are only one tool shop can be tuned, but this also works, to a greater degree more or less, and even some knives chisels.

WHAT REALLY NEED?

Apart from the planer blade yes, we need a couple of additional elements that allow this neat little trick that actually work. First Instead, we must realize that whenever any attempt to sharpen the blade, the sharpening Â'agent 'if you will, has to be both fixed and solid work on planes. In order that the small size of the leaves of Â'wet na 'to be held perfectly dry firmly, we need a plate support in the paper may be stuck temporarily. There are a couple of alternatives here.

The first and probably the best, is 30 cm (one foot) square, 3 / 8 inch glass softened at the edges to avoid any accidents. A second alternative is a good polished marble tile (large), but a good third option could be a good thick ceramic (or even terra cotta) tile. The criteria is essential. It should also be strong enough to take a little weight (not much) perfectly smooth and straight (no lumps, bumps, flakes or dents). Then we must establish and maintain the road Â'wet na 'dryÂ' perfectly flat on the surface. How? The ideal is a can of 3M spray adhesive. A thin layer sticking complete the paper firmly and squarely on the tile or glass and later (and this is just cool) simply peel off and allow to replace the Â'wet n 'dryÂ. Finally, you need a car type Â'dust Busteros's portable vacuum cleaner to suck dust (as he licked the dry leaf) and a small hand brush to sweep. Oh, yes, I almost forgot about some blue-tack to stick the tiles down on the work surface too!

THEMSELVES THE GRITS

No There are no mysteries here! The general idea is Â'lap 'sheet through successive Â'roughÂ' dry paper grades' Â'wet na 'all the way through the grades to get progressively Â'smoother both the mirror finish steel blade and a deadly sharp edge. Will the following grain size or equivalent (its non-critical) role is aluminum oxide grain sizes, and 50.80 and 100 silicon carbide paper (Wet n 'Dry) grain 150, 180, 220, 320, 400, 600, 1200 and 2000.

Using a gradual progression as above only need about youÂ'll than a minute on each grain.

WHAT CAN WE DO TO START?
First cut the required grain sizes from 75 mm (3 inch) squares and Â'spray glue "them on the edges of the top backup or archive. Note: Read the instructions carefully glue spray first and make sure not to flood the mumps …. That wonÂ't ita stick if too weta … wait a little until Â'tacky 'and then put it on the surface to be Â'grease free, clean with Meto or thinners. Place each square near each other along the shore. With these small squares of the nation leaves wet "is forever past … .. almost!

Clean the blade back to ita shining. The proof of each ability Â'working Cries' is the lap steel with the first sand, dust dust, with sand then secondly, the road around until Â'scratches or disappear Â'striations in sheet. YouÂ'll soon see only one minute in each grain is needed. Working your way through the grains should take about 10 minutes to go from 50 grains for 2000, at which time the Â'shinyÂ' leaf …. very bright indeed. Turning on the blade over to the front to the back, can Â'go by hand 'or buy one Â'blade 'sharpen toola template "for some great tools from the city collection centers. Either method works equally well.

Work the blade, flip back and forth, back and refine, hone and lap, each time you get a bit smoother, eliminating the invisible Â'near burrs. This sheet is very strong and very shiny on the edge now and have taken a look Â'white. Replace the planer blade, being careful. Adjust the map and see the court action amazing …. Dona't adjust the blade too thick and Â'bite outa 'chips. You can get almost transparent shavings, with this method … really strong!

Oh yes, the final laps in 2000 can be done using any Â'green grain paint color. Apparently, the green pigment containing oxides that allow a blade to go that Â'extra Milea "razor sharp. ItÂ's an old knife-edged Backwoods trick a couple of centuries old.

Have fun, clean up behind you and IÂ'll interested to hear of the results that any reader can achieve using this method. No oil, no water, no mess, no glazed stones and, finally, hopefully, no worries, mates!
